#1 - Welcome to Folland Photography: Where Memories Come to Life
We are a husband and wife duo located in the Florida Keys. We love capturing family sessions. Something that we both bonded over when we first met was our love for and relationships with our family, they mean everything to us. Now that we have a son of our own, we realize just how special it truly is. Being able document the same love and relationships for other families is such a gift.
Often times, many people do not understand the value of family portraits. We have captured several families that ended up losing a loved one after the session. Every single time they express how grateful they were to capture those last memories with them. After all, the photos will transcend your lifetime and be passed down for generations. Even just being able to document your kids and family at a specific time in your life is so important. That time and those moments will never exist again, being able to look back on them is priceless.
We fully understand that we may not be the best fit for everyone and that is okay! We love to encourage potential clients to find someone that suits their needs. Below are some reasons why we think we would be a great fit but ultimately we cannot recommend booking a family session enough whether with us or another photographer :)
#2 - Our Experience: Trusted by Families in the Florida Keys
We started our company in 2017 after partnering with Hawks Cay Resort. Since then we have come into our own and have photographed well over 1,000 families from all over the country. At this point we have seen just about everything and have a solution for almost anything.
Our 7+ years of experience allows us to think quickly on our feet and to find a solution when a problem arrises that ensures we get the best photos no matter what!
We have had numerous times where our tentative location was either too windy or crowded so we had to make a last minute decision to move to a different nearby location. Growing up in the Keys helped us learn all of the best, hidden-gem spots! Having a range of locations wihtin 15 min and quick thinking is invaluable in helping to make sure we get the best photos possible.
Time and time again we have photographed families that arrive with a screaming toddler, by the end of the session they are laughing and having fun! Even if the kids are in a crabby mood and do not want to participate, we will slow down the pace of the session and give the child space to explore and get comfortable.
We even have an aresenal of supplies that we bring to each session to help with clothing alterations when needed, some of our favorites include our stitchy gun, dress tape, and bobby pins!
In the photo series below, this little guy was NOT having it when he first arrived. You can see in the last photo of him with his Dad, he did not want to smile. After taking it slow and incorporating some play into the session we managed to capture some great smiles!

#3 - A Stress-Free, Fun Experience for Families
We try to make our sessions feel more like play than an actual photo session. This helps keep the kids engaged and smiling. We also shoot at a fast pace, in our experience we are lucky to get a solid 20 min of cooperation from kids, this helps to make sure we capture everything we need and goes hand in hand with making the sessions fun and painless! We always aim to be stress-free and enjoyable for all family members (even the Dads/adult men haha!)
If you are worried about what to do at the sessions, don't be! We will guide you the entire time all the way down to posing and hand placement to giving you easy to follow prompts that evoke natural emotion and playfulness. All you have to do is show up and be yourself!
We will provide you with helpful resources from what to wear and tips when preparing for the session. These have everything from the best colors and materials to wear, what to avoid, managing kids, and SO much more.
We pride ourselves on our communication and being with you through every step of the way from the initial inquiry to the delivery of the photos and everything in between. We are always happy to answer any questions or address any concerns that you may have.
We even offer several purchasing options for photos from smaller packages to the entire gallery. No need to make a decision upfront either, you can decide after you see the photos and can pick the option that works best for you and your family.

#4 - Portraits That Capture You and Everything in Between
For our sessions we always capture a mix of posed and candid moments. We try to get all of the possible photo combinations such as group shots, couples, siblings, individuals, each parent with the kids, and so much more. Along the way we sprinkle in fun moments that encourage the kids to laugh, play, run, and simply be themselves. In doing this we have found it makes for the best candid photos. This allows us to document those special moments between family members while still allowing you to have the photos that you will likely want to hang on the mantle.
Our goal is to make sure you have no regrets when you leave the session. This is why we aim to capture everything possible. We always like to check in with you during the session to see if there was anything that we missed or anything additional that you would like to capture.
